Last week, Senator Bernie Sanders forced the Senate to vote on legislation to block $8.8 billion in weapons sales to the Israeli government.
Only 15 Senators had the moral and political courage to stand up to Trump's illegal $8.8 billion weapons sales to the Israeli military.
Our work to end the U.S. government's complicity in Israeli apartheid and genocide is a long haul fight - and one that exists in the ecosystem of all of our organizing tactics. But one thing that is absolutely critical is that we show our elected officials that when they vote to continue arming a genocide there is political punishment. And when they take a bold stance to stand against these weapons there is political reward.
Every Senator needs to hear from their constituents now - either to hear outrage or thanks for their stance. Will you take 30 seconds to act now?
On March 8, DHS agents abducted Mahmoud Khalil, a U.S. permanent resident and student activist for Palestinian rights, from his New York apartment in front of his 8-month-pregnant wife. On March 25, masked DHS agents similarly grabbed Tufts student activist Rumeysa Ozturk from the sidewalk, pulling her into an unmarked car. Both Mahmoud and Rumeysa were brought to an ICE detention center in Louisiana without the knowledge of their lawyers or family.
These are the actions of a fascist government, and we must generate overwhelming public outrage and pressure to ensure the release of Mahmoud, Rumeysa, and every other student being wrongfully detained.
Call your elected officials right now and demand that they do everything in their power to secure these students' release and protect student activists and immigrants.
